Greetings, I have a 36 original paint 4 door sedan with original interior but it is need of some cleaning. Has anyone ever utilized any methods other than simply brushing and vacuuming? Is there any way it could be cleaned with an adapted dry cleaning or something similar? I suspect using a household carpet upholstery cleaner may possibly leave water marks. Or do I just live with it as is? Thanks,

Woolite upholstery cleaner may work for you. The original upholstery was wool so the Woolite should not damage it like rug shampoo might. I used it with good results on the wool carpet in my Lincoln.

I would test it on a spot where a color change would not be conspicuous, like the part of the back seat that is below the back window. The other concern would be streaking. If your seats have never been cleaned, they may streak when cleaned.
