Topic: How can I remove stains from uphostery

My deluxe 35 car has the original seat upholstery, which is in very good condition except for a few stains about the size of a quarter. They look like rust stains but not sure. I’ve tried everything I can think of to remove stains but no luck. Does anybody have any recommendations on what I could use.

For stains I've always used Turtlewax Oxy Power upholstery cleaner. It's a mild foamy soap in a spray can and works good. If it's a grease or oil stain you might try some naptha which you can get at a hardware store.Use the Turtlewax after you use the naptha.

Try Resolve spot cleaner. Try it out in a spot that is not easily seen, such as the back part of the seat cushion that fits under the backrest first. I have had no problems using it on upholstered products in my home, but it is always better to spot test any cleaner. Resolve can be found in most grocery and hardware stores.

Spray some on the spot and let it soak in, then use a clean white cloth to sponge it and the stain out. It may take several applications to get all of the stain out.

Try TUFF STUFF in a yellow & red can. It sprays on
and saturates then you blot it up. It's the only thing I ever found to take rust stains off vinyl, so I use it on all upholstery.
Available in auto parts stores for about $5.00 or at Wal-MART for about $3.00. Look for the tall yellow and red spray can.
Good luck.
