My 37 Ford was rebuilt and will not stay running. Electric pump replaced by NOS 37 Pump with gaskets/diaphram changed etc. Fuel line blown out-tank clean-new plugs, wires, cap rotor Will run for about 4 miles and then just dies. New battery, solenoid, etc Mechanic cannot figure it out--will not pump fuel--changed fuel rod, carb, another pump--cylinder compression average 85 no good Any ideas guys??

Are you sure it is a fuel problem? If no fuel is being delivered to the carburetor, check for vacuum leaks at the fuel pump and at the fuel line upstream of the fuel pump. Try removing or loosening the gas cap. If your car is supposed to have a vented gas cap and your cap does not have a vent a vacuum will develop in the tank cutting off the flow of fuel to the engine.
