Going to change the coolant in my 46 for the first time with this car. Present coolant has been in there 4 years. Assume you just drain the old out and pour the new in, but any helpful hints would be appreciated before I get started. Thanks.

50/50 mix with distilled water and water pump lubricant. Would also take the time to do a back flush to make sure you get the old stuff out.

drain the antifreeze out, rinse with water and drain, then fill with cheap white vinegar and run it thru two heat cycles-you will be surprised at what comes out. then flush with baking soda/water , flush again and then add 50/50 mixture with two bottles of water wetter and water pump lube

I've always wondered about so-called " water pump lubricant" It seems to me that if it is getting to the rotating shaft and bushing the seal is all ready shot.
