I have a 1951 Mercury that has been in the family since new, still runs and drives. Over the years I have accumulated 2 old carburetors, several fuel pumps and a couple of water pumps. They are all complete but need rebuilding. Does anyone take trade-ins so that they can rebuild them for re-sale? Or maybe trade 2 old carburetors for 1 new/re-built one?All of the parts have been in the garage, so not weathered. Thanks!

The usual practice is the customer stuffs the carburetor throat with cash when he sends it in to be rebuilt. ![]() Alan

For rebuilds on the water pumps: Skip Haney http://www.fordcollector.com/water_pumps.htm or Daryl Fryer (909) 335-1418 Skip has done 2 sets of OCM Merc pumps for me. Very satisfied. ______________ No signature

All of the recommended rebuilders are good. If you have the original '51 Mercury carb, consider calling or e-mailing Sal. (586) 612-1650 sal_cicala@yahoo.com Sal is located in Michigan and has been specializing in these Merc carbs for years. Ken
