Topic: '37 60 hp grille emblem

We are well on our way to re-assembly of our '37 restoration project, and one item that comes to mind is the grill emblem for a 60hp car.

I don't see a reproduction of the emblem in any of our catalogs.

Might there be an original emblem that someone might loan us so that we can have a new casting done?

Tim, those emblems are not reproduced and they are not a casting. They are a stamped steel unit that was chrome plated. Once in a while they show up on e-Bay and tend to be a little pricey. I'll look through my parts and see if I have one.

  Thanks!

Due to the unavailability, I would bet that a chrome plated brass casting would be a better alternative to either nothing, or an incorrect emblem.

Perhaps the only people that would know that it wasn't a stamping would be the people we told.....

I saw one on ebay two days ago. It was in Ford parts in the collector car parts. It was shown with another part that I don't remember. The price for both parts was very reasonable. Sorry I did not get a number on the listing since it was not something I needed. A picture of both parts was shown.

If you happen to see it again, (maybe in your "recently viewed" history?) I could use the help. I only found an ornament for a '38 60hp and it looks different than what the '37 handbook shows as correct.

Thanks,

I looked in e-bay again today (6/17/10) and the 37 V8 60 grill emblem is no longer listed. The 38 was there and I know the difference between the two. Sorry I was too late.

Thanks for looking again! Now I don't have to wonder what I'm doing wrong in my search.

We'll press onward!
