The battery I am using in my '36 is too tall. I cannot place the metal cover over it. The battery is in its correct location under the floor. What is the correct height for this battery location and where do I acquire one? It is 6 volt. John

I can not help on original 6 volt because I am running an Optmia and made a step down holder that just snaps or pushes down between the 2 frame lips that the original battery rests on. I dropped the battery down about 1& 1/2 inches and has plenty of clearance for the cover. It can be removed and go back to original in 5 minuets or less. I will not deal with an ACID battery again in any of my old cars. jm2cw.

One of the many advantages of the Optima is that it can be mounted in any position due to its gel cell design. That will allow it to be placed on its side, etc, with no danger of acid leakage.
