Topic: 39 Convertible rumble lid release ?

What comprises the parts that make up the rumble seat release set up. I have the handle and the latch as pictured. There must be some sort of lever on the end of the handle's shaft to pull a cable going to the latch? What does the lever look like? What does the cable look like? How is the cable routed and secured? Is there an arm on the shaft holding the rumble lid brackets that a spring attaches to to help open the lid? Where does the spring attach? The car is painted, the rumble seats installed, and the trunk quarter upholstery panels have been installed so I can not see anything relating to the cable etc.

There is a cable routed from your handle along the right 1/4 and up to the latch.
These are the only three photos I have of my '39 prior to restoration.

Found two more photos. Springs on both sides.

Thanks for the pictures, they will help. I bought some repreo. 34 springs (the heavy one in the first picture in your second post). They appear to be the same or similar to the one on your car. I hope they will work, will find out when I remove the panels and figure this all out.
