Topic: Low front end

I picked up a 1948 Ford Tudor, and it has a 1969 Camaro drivetrain and suspension. My front end is too low that when I make a sharp turn the tire rubs on the fenders. I really don't want to cut the fenders. And someone told me maybe it has drop spindles. But thy are stock. Is there an easy fix?

Are you saying your car has the 1969 Camaro independent front suspension? This might be a good question for HAMB; https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/the-hokey-ass-message-board.5/

If your car has the Camaro clip for the front suspension the only way to raise the front is a set of new coil springs. A cheap way is to purchase some coil spring spacers from an aftermarket parts shop or on e-Bay. The other issue with the "clip' is the fact it is wider than the stock '46 suspension. That's why it rubs the fenders.

Some of the Chevrolet clips were narrowed on installation. That 1st picture looks like the wheels don't have much backspace, which pushes the tire closer to the fender. Wheels with more backspace might help the problem.

Didn't realize when I bought my 46 that it had a dropped front axel to accommodate the hot rod style wheels and tires. When I dumped them and installed correct wheels and tires they rubbed the body when turning either direction. Had to bend back a small piece of the body about three inches square on both sides to solve the problem. The genius I bought it from had made other "enhancements" that it took me two years and $3,000.00 to correct - but that's another story.
