  Hi everbody,

Its time to change the spark plugs in my 1934 ford flathead v8.It has Firestone m-40-cf. My question is, whats the best plug out there and where can i find them???

18mm Thanks!

We are using Champion D21 spark plugs in our '36. They seem to work very well.

Can't remember for sure where this set was purchased ………. probably either O'Reilly's or Carquest.

Should a '34 use a different plug? Maybe. I'll ask a friend who owns two 1934 Fords, and let you know what he says.

One source for spark plugs for your 1934 Ford Flathead V-8 is Van Pelt. He sells the 18MM plugs for 1933 to 1937 Fords under P.N. 40-12405M. These are Motorcraft parts and cost $3.85 each. If you are going to have the car point judged at an early Ford meet, you will probably have to use Champion spark plugs to avoid getting deductions.

My friend says the spark plugs in both his '34 Fords are D series Champions, but they are D16s rather than D21s.

"D-21 " are a hotter plug which helps eliminating fouling. ken ct

I got tired of the fouling Champions and went to Autolite 346's. No fouling and run great, but I don't do judging,
I'm a driver.

1934 Ford's since 1972
