After purchasing a new set of tires for my car I found out two of the rims are bent. I am also in need a spare tire. The tires on my car are 16 inches. I am told they are not original to this model. Does anyone know if my car could have been fitted with 16 inch wheels from the factory and ,if not, where was the possible source of the wheels that are currently on this car?.

Who told you that nonsense? You could even fit earlier wire wheels to your car of 16 inch though the "artillery spoke" with a much larger bolt circle as used from 37-39 doesn't fit your drums. You need wheels with a 5-1/2 inch bolt circle and that is pretty much just Ford. I don't see Kelsey-Hayes or super jumbo tires.

Put your general location in your profile. Wheels are expensive to ship and a lot of people have wheels but don't want to fool around shipping them. Put a wanted ad here, on HAMB https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/wanted.30/ and on fordbarn https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18. Try contacting local EFV8 chapters and ask if they will put a wanted ad in their newsletter. What you are looking for shouldn't be that hard to find.

I would purchase the 1941 thru 1948 Ford Book offered by the V-8 Club. On page 4-14, it states that all 1941-1948 Ford passenger cars were equipped with 6.00 x 16" four ply tires. The exception is the Station Wagon that came equipped with six ply tires. At extra cost the Station Wagon could have 6.50 x 16" tires, also six ply. The book is loaded with restoration facts for your vehicle. As far as purchasing new wheels you could check the classified section of this site and the V-8 Times.

Thanks. I appreciate all the advice. It sounds like I was getting some bad information. I think some of it was due to it being about a 1941, a unique production year.

Be sure you spin the wheels and check for out of round and run out before you spend the money to paint them.

1941 was not a very unusual production year since the USA did not enter the war until 12-7-1941 and by that time 42 production had started.

Looking at the pix of your car that you attached, shows that you have '41 style hub caps and the '41 style of 4 rib beauty rings. whom ever told you your wheels are not correct is clueless.
Ford had a very good year in 1941, producing over 600,000 cars. The '41's were basically all new compared to the '40's.
