Topic: Holley 94 Carburetor Difference

Can someone tell me what the difference in Holley 94 Tops. See photo - the one on the left has an open tube in the middle where the one on the right doesn't. Different years/models? Purpose of open tube? Thanks for any insight.

The tube is the float bowl vent, the last and most successful location, the previous two having the disadvantage of dribbling fuel onto the exterior of the carb and manifold, thereby distressing the owner to think something was wrong with the engine.

Thanks Alan - Where were the other two locations for the vent you referred to in your reply so I might know what to look for on some of the other carburetors I have?

The original location of the vent was a vertical oval hole at the inlet side, at the top of a stack next to the air horn. The stack remains on later models, with the oval shape of the hole only.

The second location took a circuitous route, exiting a hole through the rear side of the accelerator pump housing.
