TRY Skip Haney in FLA he rebuilds the coils and distributors he must have condensers he has ADS in the FORD V8 TIMES, all the time,,, look in there, also I have seen them on E-BAY, stay with USA made parts, hope this helps, 1937Ragtopman

My advice? Go look at Hunt's Magnetos for a condenser. https://www.huntmagnetos.com Buy their High Output Condenser for $32. It is 36 microfarads, just four more than Bubba has told us is the ultimate. I have installed these in coils like your '34. NO one will ever know. These are very high quality, USA production that will make you wonder how you drove so long on "brand X". Mike "Kube" Kubarth

It takes only minutes to install one of these in your coil. You'll be very pleased. they are a bit pricey in my opinion but worth it for peace of mind. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Hi Mike. Did you install the high output 3210M Hunt condenser by somehow attaching it inside a hollowed-out case of an original Ford one which is meant for the stock 40B Ford 1934/1935/1936 distributor assembly? Do you possibly have a photograph to show us what you did to accomplish the conversion?

Hi Grant, I'd attempted to photograph the coil in place but was unable to do so. Please rest assured no one would ever know I don't have a stock condenser in place. Here's what I did: Remove the small grounding bracket from the end of your stock condenser. It takes very little heat to loosen the old solder. Solder that bracket on the end of the HUNT condenser. Now's the 'tricky" part if there is one... install the screw at the end of the coil (housing) as if you were installing the stock condenser. With the screw in the coil housing, you'll need to place the lead of the HUNT condenser over the screw. Then, I used a self locking hex nut. Once you have that tight, simply push the HUNT piece in the coil housing and install the coil / condenser as you normally would. These are the condensers that Bubba advised folks to use during his seminar at one of the national meets. Gosh, I can't recall which one... yikes. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Thank you, Mike. That sounds fairly straightforward. Bubba did put on a seminar presentation about early Ford ignition systems at the 2014 Central National Meet in Springfield Illinois. One of the things he dealt with was poor quality modern condensers. I remember Abe Lincoln turning up at that show.

I had the same question over a year ago ans SEARCH couldn't find it. But Skip did not have any and I was given a name of a member who converts a small condensor for the 34. Kind of a rube goldberg thing but I put it on my spare distributor and have not tried it. There were also instructions on converting a condensor by NAPA., by re-soldering the mounting arm. Have you tried VanPelt? He lists a condenser for 1932-36 Fords under part number 18-12300-B for $10.50.

What I do, and has worked perfect... I take a Standard or Echlin brand Model A condenser, remove the bracket and solder on a 33-36 bracket.. Works perfect have sold/used over 60 of them no issues.
