I am planning on replacing the front drums, shoes and linings and wheel mounting studs on my 48. All are available from Mac's, Drake and Dennis carpenter. Prices vary a lot. Can anyone advise me on which supplier is the best. There is about a $100 difference in total cost among these vendors.

Bill. Some of those vendors get some of their stock from the same suppliers. My experience is you need to look at pricing, but also shipping fees. I find Mac's to be the most expensive and Drake sometimes backorders. I have had good experience with Carpenter as far as availability and customer service. I bought a front floor mat from DC and is had some white spots on it. I called, emailed a picture, and the sent another at no charge and no shipping. You might take a look at Boling Brothers to see if they have some parts you need. They did good by me.

  Bill,
I find Joe's Antiques to be very cost competitive and they are really good people and have excellent customer service.

Another vote for Joe's. But you can also try MT car products: http://www.bolingbrothers.com/ I've also had good luck with C&G in Escondido, CA and the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, CA

Another vote here for "Joe's Antique" in Uxbridge, Mass. I must "own" part of that great place by now ! Made a lot of payments over the last few years ! Great folks

Pretty sure I have the majority ownership of Joe's. Sometimes I buy parts from him just because I can't pass up a good deal and not that I need them...

Maybe time to form a "corporate" ownership by customers ? Naw, Joe is too good at what he does !
