  hi Steve Lee
I found Lares has rebuilt steering boxes, call 1 888 577 6964 on the internet,
looks like $300.00 or so dollars, might solve your problem
hope this helps, 37Ragtopman
I think by not replacing both the worm and sector shaft as a matched set is were your problem is,
the machining has to be matched perfect, at same angles,
I see if one is was worn, what about the other ? did that have no wear ? just a few flat spots is all you need,

37RAGTOPMAN' Thanks for that info!I really appreciate it!!

I see that Shoebox Ford has the rebuilt steering boxes) for $625, and they need cores, so they give a $150 rebate for your old core; but the info you gave me is cheaper!

Bear in mind, I only replaced the sector, because I had to take it down to replace that darn gasket that was leaking!(And it still LEAKS!!), so I thought, why not do it at that time? , and it got me into a BIG MESS!!

Thanks again my friend!!

Regards, Steve Lee

  37RAGTOPMAN:
I googled and found: Lares Corp., Cleveland St.S, Cambridge, MN. 55008; but the phone is 888-555 0767?

Is that the same co. that you talked about?

I googled them (Lares Corp.) and read some complaints that seemed valid. I talked to Chris at Shoebox Central today, He Said the manual does not give the right info to rebuild the steering box, but he has the correct info, and if I send my old unit to him he will have it rebuilt with a new worm and all other new parts needed. Normally it would be an exchange deal, but He is short on cores to rebuild and exchange, so I have to send mine to him for repair. He said that it would be about a one week turn around after he gets mine. That's what I think I'm going to do to solve my steering problems!
