I've had my car about 26 years and has been a loyal friend. She's not picking up her oil all the time, so I thought I'd drop the pan and check the oil pump screen. I've never got into her motor, never had to. Anyway, I cant get the pan to let loose, and yes I have the bolts out. Any tricks???

  oil pump problem
you say oil pressure comes and goes, does the engine make noise,?
are you going by the dash gauge only ?
for accuracy
I would try another gauge, before taking the engine apart. use a mechanical gauge. to BE SURE,!!
this will rule out your gauge and the oil pressure gauge sending unit,
also check the wiring for any loose, or dirty terminals.
finding out what exactly is the problem making the repair easier,
and repair what you need to, not what you do not need to,

I would try a rubber mallet, also use a screw driver going between the pan and block, work it around slowly and carefully, not to damage anything,
when replacing the PAN later on stay AWAY from the silicone sealer.
this is KNOWN to clog up oil pumps, and on later engines, the hydraulic lifters, oil passages. and other parts etc
lets hear what you found,

I bought a 1948 8 N FORD tractor ,about 25 years ago, because the oil pressure gauge did not move,
I replaced the gauge , and oil pressure was back,
