Hello everyone, I'm asking what lube should I used in my 60hp 3 speed transmission. 600w oil or 140w gear lube. just wondering. Also would it be the same in the rear end.

You will get a lot of suggestions with most being useable. Ford did not provide guidance prior to 1949. Their 1949-1951 Shop manual suggests to "Use S.A.E. 80 (S.A.E. 90 in warm climates)" for standard transmissions and to use "Use hypoid or multi-purpose lubricant, S.A.E. 90, for all seasons" for the rear axle. Your V8-60 trans has the same metallurgy/design as the 49 Ford/Mercury trans.
