I've developed a noise in my engine. It gets louder as I depress the clutch. I removed the trans and replaced the clutch and t/o bearing, but the noise remains. I can feel the vibration when I place my hand on the oil drain plug. I think I need to remove the pan to visually check the lower end. Do I need to take off the radiator or drain the block? Is the timing cover a problem?

no need to drain radiator, but you will need to disconnect the wishbone and pull down the width of a 2x4 spacer, rotate the engine to have the front throw on connecting rod up--compression stroke for 1 and exhaust stroke for 5, drain oil, remove dipstick tube and take off pan bolts

HI 35FORD before you take the engine apart, remove the fan belt so there is nothing revolving that may be causing the problem ? also try when engine running, remove a spark plug wire one at a time, and see if the noise goes away, this may locate were the noise is coming from, maybe a con rod, wrist pin.,ETC how old is the engine,? ever been rebuilt ? diagnois is the key in making a repair, good luck,,, hope this helps 39Ragtopman LET HEAR how you made out,
