I am looking for 41 Ford parts for my Special Deluxe Coupe. I need the front center grille, either good used, repo, or any leads to suppliers or repairers. Also, Hood hinge springs Part # 99A16789, Most offer the 91A which is not correct for my model. Any help would be appreciated Brian

Brian, before you buy new springs for your hood supports, remove the supports from the car and try to close them. If they are easy to move for 1/16" or more, the pivots on the arms are bad. They need to be rebuilt or replaced. This is a more common cause of not holding the hood up than the springs becoming weak. Tom

Tom, It is not a case of weak spring, there are no springs to hold the hood up. My problem is that I can't find the source that carried both Part # 99A16789 (Correct) and 91A16789 (not correct). You know, I put it in such a safe place I can't find it when I need it!! Brian

On a '41 you can use the later hinges and springs. The advantage is it allows the hood to open wider and makes it easier to work on things under the hood.
