Topic: 1941 coupe vent window weather seal fit

  Hi All
I have a 41 super deluxe coupe and I just had Steele rubber vent window seals installed in the frames. The fit is good but I have a issue now with the windows not being able to be rolled up. The rear piece of the seal hits the stainless steel trim bar. When I look at the seal it looks like there is a sort of V mark in the rubber that lines up with the window trim. should that be cut out ? has anyone had this issue ? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Also I contacted Steele but have not received a reply.

Thanks for your help
Joe

It sounds like something is out of adjustment if the windows do not want to roll up. The '41 body is basically the same as the '48. The channel for the front part of the window extends down into the door and is held by two small bolts at the bottom and a small screw at the top. If your door panel is off the car you can make the adjustments by loosening the bottom bolts that hold the channel and the screw at the top. When you changed the rubber seals it may have moved that channel(which can loosen over the years) and put the window in a bind.
