Topic: Brakes; stop light switch

Currently, I am upgrading my brakes to a dual master cylinder but I am having diffilculty with a slight leak
on the stop light switch.
I am using 1/4 brake line with a 1/4 T. The stop light
switch, 1940, has a smaller male thread; 3/8 thread. I
connected the stop switch to a 7/16 to 3/8 adapter that
connects to the T. Should I use a 3/16 T and install the adapters, 7/16 to 3/8 on the the brake lines?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

If i remember right the the presure switch has pipe plug threads that scr*w*d into a brass banjo piece. you can not mix pipe thread and regular thread. use teflon tape to seal threads. I use a brass starter switch mounted under the floor board, when i step on the brake pedalit releases and the brake work, got it at west marine and reversed the mechinism inside to turn on when it extends.

The brake switch is in fact pipe thread. I don't use the stock switch. I use the mechanical lever type switch that was used on the old Chevy pickups. It will mount to your floorboard and the lever will fit under the pedal. No fluid leaks or worry about using silicone fluid which is hard on switches.
