For the most part of '36, nothing externally different from your '38 drums and not necessarily anything internally. Very early '36 drums were "open". It is imperative that you check the bearing diameter. Seems to me that the diameter was changed during 1936. the first design in '36 had a large bearing - around 3 3/16" diameter. the second design was reduced in size to about 2 3/4". Don? I've been following your quest for information on 1938 Ford pickup wheels. The pictures of your truck show later wheels, probably from '40 to '48 (just a guess). FYI, and you probably know this, if you want to change back to '38, you're going to need the "wide five" brake drums as well. Ken

Only the rear brake drum hub bearings were changed, not the fronts.

The 36 front spindle was different from the 37-39. The green book lists the 36 hub and drum only fitting the 36 (not 37-39 which has no replacement shown). I thought the 36 hub neck looked longer than the 37-39s. I forgot when Ford started using separate hub and drums for replacement purposes and I don't recall if they made any separate hub and drums for 36 Fords.
