help. Carb for a 1951 ford has Zinc Chromate on it. How can I restore this to the original surface? I still have some of the original coating on it but most is very worn off.

As the previous post advises, Eastwood and others do sell paint products that are used for that purpose, however, in my humble opinion, no paint product has been produced that can't be distinguished as hokey fake news from a distance of 20 feet away. Again my humble opinion, nothing looks as authentic as a carb in the condition you describe. Speaking as a Concourse Judge now, guess which carb I would rather see on the Concourse field? Alan

I agree with Mike and Alan. The Zinc Chromate process requires chemicals that are dangerous to our environment and I do not know anyone who provides a service to redo the process. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc_chromate Tom

I have two 97's on my V-8 and they are a dull "gold" color. Is this zinc Chromate?
