Topic: 1936 4 door horn testing

Horn button pushed ...... NO honk. I want to begin testing from the horn, moving up the harness. I'll disconnect the 2 terminal wires from the horn. Question: is there a neg/pos terminal? I don't see a + - on the horn. I also can't see because of the harness, if one of the terminals supplies power to the 2nd horn. I'll use a couple of alligator clipped wires for testing. Suggestions other than my plan?

The yellow wire is the NEG or hot wire and the yellow wire with the black tracer is the ground or POS side.

I would start by measuring the voltage on the terminal with the yellow wire at the horns. It should be 6 volts. If you have 6 volts, the problem is in the grounding side of the horn motor. If you do not have 6 volts, look in the bundle of connectors on the left, front of the frame near the radiator for the yellow wire and check the voltage on the wire coming from the harness for 6 volts.

If the 6 volts is at the horn, connect the meter to the yellow wire with a black tracer. It should read 6 volts until the horn button is pressed. If it stays at 6 volts when the button is pressed, look at at the wire bundle on the left front side of the frame, near the radiator to find the yellow wire with the black tracer. Once you find it, use a jumper to ground it. If the horn blows, then the problem is back at the steering column. if it does not blow, the problem is probably in the horn.
