I am in the process of replacing the windshield glass and the rubber seal around the frame. How do I get the seal in the frame grove and still lay flat against the against the frame?

If you did not clean out all of the old rubber from the previous seal you will not get the new seal in properly. There is a small groove at the bottom of the seal recess that also needs to be cleaned on the outer seal. Are you questioning the inner glass to frame seal?

Take the windshield off and do it on a table, it's much easier.

1934 Ford's since 1972

thanks for your responses. I looked at the windshield frame closer than before, the small groove in the frame, at the bottom of the seal recess, does have more surface rust. So I am going to figure out a way to soak the frame, 2 pieces, in some Evapo Rust. That is probably the only way to clean that groove.
