I have a '41 Deluxe Woodie. At the front of the hood, should there be a V8 emblem? I've noticed some cars that have the emblem and others that don't. What determined which cars got the emblem? The photo here shows the emblem. This video shows a car without the emblem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gJJ1YFPXJY Thanks, Josh This message was edited by EvolveCustomAutomotiveRestoration on 12-31-19 @ 7:51 AM

Here's a photo of a car that has some sort of emblem or trim piece where the emblem would go; anyone recognize that piece? I would really like to know what it is.

There were many changes in the 1941 cars and if you are going for a correct restoration, you will need the 1941-1948 book available from the Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum or directly from the Club by visiting the online store. Some early cars did not have the 6 or 8 emblem. There are other features that were present on cars without the emblem, such as the 3 piece front fenders. I believe that the book describes them all. Page 2-5 of the 41 to 48 book only refers to cars, and no mention of wagons. for the '41 cars, it references P/N's 11A8218-B and 11A8218A for the Deluxe. The book references V6 and V8 emblems for later in '41.
