For a '37 , how are the throttle and choke rods connected to the rods? Are they threaded into a connecting collar/coupler or just a crimp.

Here is an engineering drawing of 35-36 rods showing swaged sleeve. 37 was the same.

Not to hijack your post Derby, but I have a similar question about the choke and throttle rods on my '46 that need to be replaced. How is it done?

Good questions on how fix the swaged sleeve. In Don's post, the note says that the swage must stand a 100 # pull. My first thought was to use a crimping tool typically used on spark plug wires. I had imagined an aluminum sleeve. More thought and trials are required to see if that is practical. Another approach is to thread the parts. I am sure that someone will jump in with better solutions.

I used J.B. Weld and it holds very well. Label says up to 900 p.s.i.

I have a 37. I threaded the rods and coupler. Hold really well.

For the 46 Ford, buy the 91A-9702 Couplers and pull out the stubs in the rubber on both the original and the replacement, I did mine in 1977 and it is still working. https://cgfordparts.com/wwwsectionfiles/cg_cat1_fuel_system_choke_throttle.html Tom

Loc-Tite for cylindrical non-threaded connections works great, as well.

i uncrimped the originals with narrow vice grips. not factory, but i then used rod couplers from an old erector set. they're tubes, maybe an inch long and have threaded set screws at each end. they fit the rods perfectly. and obviously come back off easily the next time.
