Not good at posting pics but I am trying to ID this year of switch at back of steering column. I only have the small 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 steel box that holds the 3/8 inch ign brush. Not the triangle brush. I have a 33 ignition box with the 3/8 inch wide brush and the box is the same size. The 33 has an L shaped slot and the the unknown has a single straight slot. Is this a 32 item only? or what?

Ok a search in ebay shows a repair kit for a 32 and there it is. The single slot brush box and it looks like an additional plate is supplied that fits between the box and column drop. So indeed, 32 uses a one year only brush box. This message was edited by WarEagle on 10-18-19 @ 7:54 AM

With the exception of the very early V8-only version of the black plastic body (18-3704) on the back of the switch, the cadmium-plated steel case in question (B-3712), brush (B-3709), and plastic body (B-3712) were all carried over and remained the same through at least the '37 model year. In other words, all had the same L-shaped slot in the case. Without the L-shaped slot, either the steering shaft would not lock or the ignition lever would not function.

Or in other words, 33 thr 37 brush case fits a 32...but not the other way around. Thanks
