Topic: convert top grief

This has probably come up dozens of times so maybe someone has come up with a foolproof solution.

I have a '36 convert. The rear window panel is attached to a wooden bow. The attachment of the panel to the bow is accomplished with a series of studs. This makes it easy to drop the panel to increase air flow on a hot day without dropping the entire top. The problem is reattaching the panel. The snap has to be in perfect alignment with the stud for the attachment to occur. This is easier said than done.

The picture below show what can occur when things go wrong.

Has anyone ever come up with an easier way to hang the rear panel to the bow that allows for the simple dropping and reattaching of the panel?

Hopefully, the pictures below show what I am talking about.

Tom

On my '36 Roadster I used to just remove the thrumb screws at the front and lift the top a few inches.
That was enough to take the tension off of the rear window. I could fasten or remove the rear panel a lot easier that way.
