Topic: 46 ford features

I've seen some 46 fords with a built-in tool tray in the trunk and some without. I've also seen some 46 Fords with a crank to operated the vent glass and some with out. Does anyone know why some 46 fords are different than others concerning these features. I'm really curious.
Thanks

On page 3-24 of the V8 Club's "1941-1948 Ford Book" it says that the '41, '42 and early '46 cars had the the storage trough at the back edge of the trunk. Later, the plywood covers were scr*w*d down and still later in the model year the trunk floor stamping was changed to eliminate the "sub-compartment".

On page 3-16 it says, "Crank controls for the crank-operated front door vent windows in the 1941-1946 Super Deluxe series cars..."

So some features were early vs. late and others were Super Deluxe vs. Deluxe. Note also that the shape of the backside of the wheel rims changed sometime in the 46 model run.

You should buy the book, it's quite useful and very interesting.
