Does anyone know of a source for repair or coils for the Remund Igntion distributor conversions that were sold in the V8 Times 2000-2003. I have several that I have been running on my cars and trucks and i'm having what I beleave to be coil failure. The coils were internally modified and hard wired to the Igniter module eliminating the points. The application is 40 v8 Flathead. Any help appreciated.

It is my understanding tnat most of the coils for Remund were done by A&S Coils in Michigan. A&S also did one of mine. It too soon went bad and upon examination, I found that little was done to repair my coil and then, A&S simply encased the 'innards' in epoxy, there by making it impossible to repair. I had another pair of coils that I sent to Skip Haney in Punta Gorda Fla. He repaired them correctly and they have been in service now for about eight years. To your question, I would open one up and look at it to see how it was done but if you want to have good, properly repaired coils, send them to Skip. If they are epoxied, they are a write off. Otherwise, if they are still serviceable, Skip can repair them. Ken

  Ken,
Thanks for the responce. Skip just lives south of me. He did some water pumps for the 50 coupe i drove to Alaska in 2007. I was hoping someone took over Micky Remund's business after his passing. I have been running his distributors for over 18+ years without any problems till now. They sure make the Flatheads start easy and run cool.
