Are '37 motors (Ford) domed pistons. I know some '36's were, but don't know about '37. I have a pair of '36 heads that are for domed pistons and thought about installing them on my '37 motor. The car is '36 fordor sedan with 300 miles on overhauled '37 motor.

Flatfoot. On my 36,if you remove the spark plug and bring the piston to top dead center and look with a bright light, you can see a small portion of the piston. Not sure if the 37's use the large style plugs like the 36,but if so, you should be able to tell what style pistons you have. I have a friend with a 36 with a later engine that has factory block-off plates covering the lower mounted water pump openings and uses 36 heads. I think the later pump set up is much better for cooling if you don't mind it not being original.
