Topic: Dashboard Control Identification

  Hello Everyone,
Can anyone help me identify this control/part?
As you can see it's located under the dash of my '36 Ford, just below the choke.
The works that it's connected to are stuck in place and I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

It's the handle/lever to open up the ourside cowl vent....

It's the lever that opens and closes the vent in the cowl top. There's a spring behind the dash that applies tension to keep the vent lid in the desired position. Detach one end of the spring and the vent lid should move up and down freely. There's a bit of a roller that should move along the notches of the arm connected to the lid. Perhaps it is frozen in place and can be freed up with some penetrating oil. While you're at it oil the vent hinge pivot points to free them up as well.
