HELP !!! I'm looking for the front brake cable for my '51 ford. Everything I've seen stops at 1950 and skips to 1952+. The old cable parted at the upper ball end. Does anyone have any idea where else I might find one?

The primary cable which is connected to the hand brake or foot brake assembly for the park brake. The secondary are the pair in the back branching off to each back plate on the differential housing. There is one eBay seller from Ontario that also has MANY different park brake cables for sale!! I have a 1950 Mercury Sport Sedan and wooden rocking horse droppings are easier to find than a 1949-51 Mercury sedan plain and simple!! My primary or "front" cable frayed and snapped in the housing years ago and I couldn't find one. I was sceptic about those cables this seller had because if it sounds too good to be true it probably is?? I opened up my wallet and took a chance purchasing the primary and secondary set even though my secondary rear were still good and it was a spot on fit and match!! It looks a bit more modern in design but fit exactly into the guides, retainers, hand brake assembly including the ball on the end of the cable with a proper overall length as well. I never replaced the original rear as they are still working fine. This seller has them for other makes and models as well.

Thanks 56MarkII. I guess it he had said the front brake cable of the parking brake system I would have picked up on it sooner.
