I plan on installing a 8BA in a 1934 Ford Victoria. Any clearance issues to speak of; crank pulley and front crossmember, radiator and fan, etc. All install tips would be appreciated. Thanks. Marty

Yes to above, also steady rods. Check your cross member to make sure not cracked. (34 since 1950)

Check the clearance on the bell housing if you are using a 34 transmission. You will have to use a 48-53 truck or 49-50 Mercury narrow bolt on bell housing to adapt the 8BA engine to the 34 transmission. There may be clearance issues with the transmission any way as the 34 transmission had a flatter bell housing portion which may interfere with the pressure plate. Using a 39 transmission eliminates the problem plus gives you better syncros.

The 8BA block is little over 2 inches longer than 59A. With everything being equal, would the fabrication/modification be done at the rear of the car? Transmission mounting point etc. So water pump/ fan blade assembly should fit?

The 8BA engine into a '34 and later Ford is a piece of cake, if you go about it right. You will need a '49-53 truck bell-housing and the proper flywheel. you will also need the '49-50 Merc water pumps and the Merc motor mount U shaped spacers. The fan clearance might be a little tricky. I have put more than one 8BA/8BCM engines into '36 and later Fords. I have attached a couple of pix of an 8BA engine in my friends '37 Ford 1/2 ton. I have no idea why some people insist on redirecting questions about the EFV8's to the Hamb.. Having owned my own business for over forty years I tried my best to avoid sending a prospective customer out the door without trying to help him.. If you look at the traffic on the Ford Barn compared to the EFV8, you can quickly see what a closed mind produces. Bill 36 5 win delx cpe
