Topic: Doors on or doors off

I currently have my finished painted doors for my pickup truck off the cab. While this should be probably listed under Truck Forum, I think this is a question for any vehicle being restored.
So, the question is -- is it, or would it be easier to assemble all the door internal mechanisms off the vehicle or would it be easier on the vehicle?
I believe that the vehicle had the doors on when being assembled on the line originally, but.........after touring the Rouge Truck Plant recently, Ford now assembles the door internals off the vehicle and then attaches. Thoughts?

Hang the doors first. They are lighter and easier to line up on the body. With window glass and latches they are very heavy and difficult to handle when trying to lie up the hinge pins etc.

Excellent point, since none of us have the automated carriers that they currently have at the Rouge.
Guess, I have my answer --- don't want to invest in Wheaties stock or a Total Fitness membership to beef up for the lifting.
Thank you.

As a suggestion, rehanging the doors will be easier without the running boards in place.

  And right you are.
I have already struggled with them on working on the dash and interior.
