Hello, I just bought a flathead 59A it is stamped F814 on bellhousing, please can someone tell me the year? I know its 1946-8 but which one? Cheers

I did read first # is the date so must be 1948...?

In most cases, the original engine has been replaced more than once over the life of the vehicle, rendering numbers irrelevant as to origin.
