New fuel pump about 1 year ago, used the old push rod. It's not pumping right, suspect push rod? What is the overall spec for a good one , and wear tolerance before it's no good? I have a used one I could use it's 10 and 3/32" long, if the one in use is too short.

"not pumping right" is kind of vague. Can you elaborate? Also, the quality of the new 'off shore' fuel pumps is questionable if this is what you have....

Not sure of if it is an off shore pump. I crank the motor and it gives (2) squirts and then nothing? NOTE: car was laid up over winter and not run.

2 squirts and then nothing suggests a plugged fuel line. The seal on the sediment bowl could also be leaking, but that usually shows up as no fuel coming out of the pump.

Check the flex line for blockage or leaking air, blow out the line to the tank and replace the sediment bowl gasket.

It was that darn electric pump that was starving my mechanical!

It was electric pump bl0cking the flow to mechanical.

Another "improvement" that caused a hard to diagnose problem.

I live in Northern Nevada and our Maverick gas stations carry ethanol free gas, which doesn't seem to cause as many problems. Costs a little more but well worth it.
