I have a good running V8-60. When I removed the starter from it, the starter drive got "extended" for lack of a better term. I cannot get the starter back onto the engine with the starter drive extended. Does anyone know how to "reset" the starter drive? Your suggestions would be appreciated.....

Frank Scheidt has an article on this type of drive in the current issue of the V-8 Times. He did not give a solution to getting the drive in its normal position. He said that he just inserted his back into the tractor motor making sure that the drive gear engaged the ring gear and everything worked.
