Topic: Heater switch

I have what I believe to be the original heater switch out of my car and in my hand. It has four terminals, two of which are color coded for correct placement of terminals.

What is the easiest way to determine if this switch is good or bad?

All four of the terminals are color coded in the following order.

Hold the switch with the terminals up and the groove on the shaft facing you. The terminal facing you is coded black, going clockwise, the rest of the terminals are coded red, yellow and brown.

Connect one lead of your ohmmeter to the black terminal an the other to the red terminal, you should have 0 ohms when the switch is in the direct high position. You should have the same reading between the black and brown terminals when in indirect mode.

I have a NORS switch for your car. I differs from the original switch in that it uses slip on connectors instead of screw on connectors. Send me a private message for pricing and photo.
