Topic: 35 Phaeton Battery holding bracket

My new 6 volt battery is too tall for the existing original Ford Script battery holder. The Script battery is indented and drops about an inch into the bracket. The new one sits on top of the bracket
I am not able to secure the battery or get the floor cover over it. Any thoughts?

I think your '35 requires a Group 2LF battery which is no longer manufactured. Even the new 6 volt Optima batteries are too tall to fit your application. You're going to have to make some modifications to the battery holder/tray assembly. There are people who post on this forum who have made these modifications and they will probably chime in....

I used a 6V Optima batter by making a wood tray to elevate it high enough to clear the terminals of the original battery tray. The battery reclines with the terminals facing forward. An added benefit is that the cables are readily available for disconnect without lifting the floor mat and removing the cover.
