Topic: Clock in 1950 Ford Custom

About 3 weeks ago I bought a refurbished, 6 volt, clock for my 1950 Ford. The clock ran great until about 3 days ago when the winder motor started making some horrendous noises. Up until 2:30 this morning the clock would still wind and run. I think the winder motor has seized up. I saw in my reprinted repair manual that some cars had manual wind up clocks in them. I've done an internet search and have come up empty so far. Do any of you have a line on manual wind up clocks. I know that the Chevrolet had a manual wind up clock, but am not sure if a Chevy clock would fit.

Before I would go jumping brands, I would check around. There still are lots of 1949-50 clocks out there. They are not that complicated either. Sometimes just a little blow from a compressed air can will get it running again. Otherwise, place an classified wanted ad on this site. Or even check out eBay.
A good replacement will be a lot easier than trying to re-manufacture the one you have.

I would contact the seller to see if he will repair the clock. My guess is dirty contact points.
