Topic: Belt tension

Rebuilt my generator in my 1938 V8. I reinstalled the generator but what is the easiest way to adjust generator to put tension on the fanbelt?

Drive a wooden wedge under the gen. to lift it up or use a padded crowbar under it and tighten nut. Very easy to figure out if you think about it. Not rocket science. ken ct.

Thank you ken but the smart remarks aren’t necessary. I’m new to the v8 and just don’t want to damage anything.

Good for you, Kas. Ken's social graces often leave something to be desired.

It wasn't a smart just some common sense in which people of today seem to be lacking of. ken ct

So the remark “lacking common sense” isn’t disrespectful? I’m trying to be respectful to you but your making it very hard. I am being cautious is what it is called and maybe could show ME some respect for being so and apparently you disrespecting most of the users on this forum. No one thinks you’re superior in intelligence by belittling others.

Ken, You got kicked off the FordBarn for such antics. What? Trying for #2 of #2?

What smart remark! Touchy, touchy, touchy! are you having a bad day??? Are you referring to, "It's not rocket science?" That is not a smart remark!, it just means "it's easy if you think about it." It's a very common expression.

Regards, Steve Lee
