thanks to deluxe 40 for the info on this 49, the build date is feb 15, so its to be blue. I have the paint coming from Hirsch. q; as these engines were painted assembled with the water pumps, were the pump pulleys engine color or black?

The pumps and pump pulleys are engine color along with the block, heads, intake manifold, front cover, bell housing and oil pan. The first page of the "Engine Compartment" chapter in The 1949-50-51 Book has a nice table of colors for the bolt on components.
