Back in the day I had a 46 ford that had a booster vacuum pump. However I don't remember much about it, but it worked well. I'm guessing it was an aftermarket accessory.

Ford offered an optional mechanical fuel pump that incorporated a vacuum pump to provide a stronger vacuum source for the wipers. This fuel pump mounted in the same location on the Flathead V-8's as the standard fuel pump. It was optional equipment on 1951 to 1953 Ford V-8's. Dennis Carpenter offers one as part number 1BA-9350-N and refers to it as a Double Action Fuel Pump.

What is a newer motor? How about a picture of where you vac line is attached?

First, determine if it is lack of vacuum that is causing your problem. Connect a vacuum gauge to the windshield wiper port on the intake manifold. If you have a stock cam, the reading should be around 20 inches at idle. Here is a link on how to read and interpret a vacuum gauge.

If you get normal vacuum readings, remove the wiper blades and drive around with the wiper motor running. This will help the lubricant with in the motor. Lubricate all pivot points on the wiper drive arms and the shaft that comes through the body to drive the wipers.

Your wipers should operate fine at a steady speed and slow down when you accelerate. If they do not do that, check for worn parts in the linkage. Worn and sloppy pivots can cause binds in the operation.

Many other discussions if you search. Your wipers, if operating properly, should operate more than adequately and far more quickly than you think - all without a bandaid/'upgrade' vac boosting system.
