I have used vaseline as a lubricant for my new speedometer cable. Is that OK? Too thick? 51 Ford.

That's what I used back in the day and would still use it today. OMO. ken ct.

Vaseline is OK, but I prefer to use graphite lubricant. Vaseline will collect dirt as it stays moist, graphite is a dry lubricant and does not collect dirt.
