Why would someone switch to negative ground?
In preparation for the Grand National Show, a friend put his Generator back on a car that came with a 6 volt alternator
when he bought it. He then noticed the battery was negative ground.
(No alternators allowed on V8's for the Greenfield Village Motor Muster)
Why would someone do that and should he just reverse the cables to positive ground when the generator is back in place?

You will have to reverse the cables and then polarize the generator if it doesn't charge.
