Do a search for hood alingnment using all forums and all dates You should find this topic: https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=14&Topic=4419&keywords=hood%20alignment Although it is from a different year than your car the principle is the same. Tom

Great instructions, thanks VERY much. The 40’s hood comes down to the fenders. On the 38 there are side panels between the fenders and the hood. At what point in the process should these side panels be installed?
