Airtex 8902 failed after a few weeks. Loud pulse noise..no pressure. Are they generally reliable ?

I suppose you have checked for adequate supply of fuel ( inlet filter stopped up?), stopped up line, etc? Is it mounted below fuel level? They are generally thought to be reliable but there are probably exceptions.

My '47 has been running a 12 volt Airtex from before I owned it .... or at least ten years and more of light annual driving.
