Topic: 37 hood ornament illustration

Hi. New here. I have a 1937 Ford Tudor Sedan Slantback. When I bought the car it was a basket case. I am trying to rebuild it. All of my parts are original steel. I have a problem though. My hood was shaved. The ornament was removed and a piece was welded in. I cut that out, and I bought a newer original ornament. I would like to find a illustration on just how everything goes back together. I know I am missing parts. I just need to know what I need to replace, or make. Thanks.

The Early Ford V-8 Club has a 1937 Ford book that covers every detail on your car it's well worth it.

Does it show cut away pics of how each piece goes?? Also. Is there a special place where I might be able to buy parts from??

I got a picture from another 37 owner. On the front of the hood under the hood is a strip of metal with two screws holding it down on one end. It rides against the cam plate. Is that spring steel?? Thanks.

I took that piece off today and it seems like mild spring steel to me.

The 1937 book does not have that type of information but covers almost every detail in the restoration of your car.

Great pics. All of them help me out a lot. I had a lot of pits in the handle I bought, so I had to fill all of them in with jb Weld. I ended up painting everything black. My car will be white so it should look fine.

That pic of that strap. By mild steel.. Do you think I could make it out of Stainless Steel??
